This Wednesday

So I'm supposed to have a C-section this Wednesday at 4pm.  Ready?  No.  Scared?  Uh, yes.  A sigh of relief will be in order though.  I don't know which is worse, the pain I'm in now or the pain everyone is telling me to get ready for.  Hmph.  We shall see.  Anyways.  I did a small booth with my buddy Lauren right next to me at a small fair called Spring Spree at East Win Christian Church.  Yesterday started as a gloomy rainy day, and the place our tables were was right under a rusty hole in the roof.  So not only was there a drip, there was actually rain falling on us, like in droves.  So we moved our tables until the rain stopped.  Lauren sold a few items, but I again, sold none.  I did give some fliers away advertising my work, so let's cross our fingers.  I had fun tho, and it only cost me $25, so no huge loss.  Here's to hoping Arlington in April is more successful.  Bye for now!

Eli

So, this kid is getting a lot bigger, and is supposed to be here in 6 weeks.  I thought he was going to show up last Saturday night, but he decided he was still comfortable I guess.  Here he is at 33 weeks.

Comparison

So I delivered my latest painting to my client today.  She was so happy with it, even though she waited for a while.  I had too much going on.  So I'm going to spend more free time painting.  Which will be my new job hopefully.  So here's a comparison of my paintings to the real pictures of the 3 little doggies.

And thanks to getting this painting done...

Treasured

One of my paintings that I have listed for sale on Etsy has been listed in another person's treasury.  I'm so proud!  http://www.etsy.com/treasury/4d390b3c6ed36d913b4b5748/all-things-red

Scrapbooking

Well, I had my scrapbooking class today.  My cousin Mandi and I had a great time putting these pages together.  Can't wait to put new pages together for next month's class, definitely going with a dog theme.

All done

So I finished the room.  A nice space to get painting and other artwork done with few(er) distractions.  It's probably not good that I'll be sitting next to the computer all the time, but at least I won't have to waste more time getting up and walking to it from the other room.  :)

Ultrasounds

Here's a few of my ultrasound pictures.  I've misplaced the rest for now, but when I find them
I'll post them also.  Elijah Joseph Dodd, due April 4.
 19 weeks
27 weeks
I'm 30 weeks now.  Only a few more to go.  Ehh.

Last night

I took a break during cleaning last night, since I had a space to work finally.  I had this broken piece of glass that I had intended to make into a necklace, and it finally came together.  It doesn't look as good as I hoped it would, but the fact that I actually got it done made me happy.

Black polymer clay baked around the sharp edges of this bubbly glass.  I don't remember what the glass originally was, but I thought the broken shape was interesting.

Last one for today

Made a little more progress.  This bookshelf was a disaster.  Might not look like much now either, but trust me, its much improved.

Day 2, again

Major progress on the art room!
Now to tackle the other half (conveniently not pictured...)

Day 2, hey I'm doing good!

So just a quick post, I got some organizing done in the room, and Stephen put in another light bulb (there were supposed to be 2, go figure).  When I get more accomplished I'll post a couple more pics.

New and Improved.

No, not really.  There's nothing to improve since this is my first blog, and first blog post.  I'm giving the blog thing a try after reading a book that I downloaded for free.  Its called "Melting Chocolate Kettles" by Austin Church.  I highly recommend it if you're an artist, writer, so on and such.  It talks about how to overcome obstacles that keep us from our creativity.  One of those obstacles was audience, hence making a blog and getting myself out there more.  It also suggested making a nice place to do artwork, so I'm going to move all of my painting gear (those of you that have been to my house know I paint in the foyer and in front of the tv) to the back bedroom so I can have an art studio with less distraction.  Maybe I'll get more done.  God knows I need to, because I would really like for painting, design and creativity to become my main job.  Wish me luck.
I'll also be blogging my painting progress, and post pictures as they come along.

Lots of work to do in this room to make it a decent art studio, but hopefully it will be worth it.
